The 1900 Double Eagle, featuring the Liberty Head design, is a U.S. $20 gold coin minted at the Philadelphia Mint, as indicated by the "P" mintmark. The NGC MS-62 grade means the coin is in Mint State condition, meaning it has never been in circulation. As an MS-62, the coin shows light imperfections such as minor contact marks, hairlines, or abrasions, but it retains much of its original luster and design details. While it is not perfect, it remains a solid example of a well-preserved Mint State coin.
The Liberty Head design, created by Christian Gobrecht, was used on U.S. gold coins from 1849 to 1907. The 1900 Double Eagle is one of the more common issues in the Liberty Head series, but it is still a desirable coin for collectors due to its historical significance and the fact that it marks the transition into the 20th century for U.S. gold coinage.
Certified by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation), the coin’s authenticity and the MS-62 grade are guaranteed, making it a valuable and attractive addition to any collection of U.S. gold coins, particularly for those focused on the Liberty Head design.
